Re-formatting to fit Brand Image

Editing and Re-formatting My Blog Structure to Better Align with the Vision I Have for My Brand-In-Progress  I've been on a roll with creating and posting blog content over the past week. Between my Personal Plants and Bants Blog and my Digital Portfolio Blog , I am finally starting to get the hang of creating blog posts and utilizing this platform optimally. It's starting to take the shape of something that aligns closer to my vision of it.  I decided that content aside, the look of my blog was still a long way off from what I wanted it to look like. It was giving an almost juvenile, amateur vibe, and was not portraying the tone I wanted to project.  This is what my blog looked like before I edited and customized it: What it looks like now, after I've customized it some I still have a lot of work to do in regards to getting my personal blog where I want to get it, both in the formatting, and in the creation of lots of good quality, informative and visually pleasing cont...

Stomping out into the Digital World, Carving a Tiny Place for Myself

Stomping out into the Digital World, Carving a Tiny Place for Myself  Everything I'm seeming to learn about the digital world is "branding, branding, branding!" "it's so important to have a consistent brand image and message." In this blog post I attempt to start unpacking the creation of my own little brand.  Written by Lauren Molloy on 14 Feb 2024 I've slowly been tiptoeing out of my comfort zone from my cozy little position of living under a rock. The digital world is big and scary, with information coming your way at light speed, left, right and center, faster than you can even comprehend. How is it even possible to try and get yourself out there when everything is always so oversaturated with hoards of people screaming into the void online and hoping to hear an echo.  For me, nine out of ten times, getting started is the hardest part of a big project. Once I start I can usually find a trickle of forward momentum for the tasks I need to complete on t...

Using the AI Program Runway to Generate Video Clips, and Canva to Organize These Clips into a Video

Using the AI Program Runway to Generate Video Clips, and Canva to Organize These Clips into a Video Written by Lauren Molloy on 30 January 2024 Quick little intro... I am still learning Canva and its numerous amazing facets, but you can't learn without doing the thing, so today I tried my hand at creating a short video with audio and transitions on Canva. And to really mix things up, instead of just finding stock video clips online and combining them, I decided to generate 'my own' video clips using the AI program Runway that I just discovered. Thinking "oh yeah, two birds with one stone," I set out on this journey.  Isn't a Runway something for models or planes? Yes, but in this context, Runway is an AI video generative program that allows the user to create video clips of 4-8 seconds in length by giving the program a written prompt of up to 360 characters. In addition, Runway also gives you the option to upload an image to be used alone or alongside text ...

Using Pinterest to Drive Traffic to My Personal Blog: Creating Pinterest Pins on Canva  Written by Lauren Molloy on 10 January 2024 Introduction In my Digital Marketing course, we explored how Pinterest can be used as another tool to optimize traffic to your website organically. I used Canva to create a design which I could then post on Pinterest with a link to my blog.  What is Pinterest and Why Does it Matter? Pinterest  is a predominately visual search engine with 482 million users, that uses thumbnail images to create a pin with a brief summary and links to a particular website. The site learns your interests and search style to make recommendations based on your topics of interest. Pinterest also acts as a social media site, you can follow people, discover new content, get inspiration, find informational content, project ideas or inspiration on virtually any topic. Tools I Used  Canva Pinterest Pinterest Academy Blogger What I Learned I have used  Pint...

Using AI Software- Pika- To Generate Short Video Clips

Image
Using AI Software- Pika - To Generate Short Video Clips Written by Lauren Molloy on 3 January 2024 Today I discovered Pika , a free new AI program that can generate short video clips with just a prompt. I went into this experience blind, completely unsure of what to do and how to get started. It would have been great to have an instructions page or a tutorial to give you a bit of an idea how to best use the program when trying it for the first time. I think the addition of a feature like that to Pika's website would benefit other new visitors. Using Pika was very much a matter of trial and error- some prompts generated videos that worked cohesively with the prompt, others not so much, and some were a bizarre mash up of things. Overall, it was an intriguing experience and was fun to figure out how it worked and generate a variety of different content.  The Trial, The Error On my first attempt at generating a video, my prompt was too lengthy and had too many details. The program was ...
